Mine does it cold or hot all the time.what's a bycollar?... L.o.l sorry I meant bystarter
Bystarter system is a good part of what makes Honda cold starts effortless. See link below. If it's doing it when hot, there's still work to do on the Spree stalling issue. It's an interesting problem. Spree owners bring this up from time to time. Oddly no other Honda scooters I can recall in the same vintage have this issue.

The collar portion is an air control valve which when the bystarter valve is cold lets air bypass the throttle slide.

BOOYAH

so i managed to get the bystarter collar out of the carb w/o boogering it up, and slowly/carefully massaged it's diameter down . now it slides freely in and out , where as before it was stuck open ,with about 1/4" of it protruding out of the top of the carb

NO more issues with potholes/bumps !!! :geekdance:

bystarter for the Iowa bike should show up today, and that bike should be tip-top as well

superdave and SuprasNsprees - great work, glad to see it was the same failure and that the fix cost is zero.

Over the years this is a problem on/off reported by Spree owners. You two helped us in finding a new problem/solution, always a good thing for the group. Thanks!
