I get 80 mpg out of my Aero 80 once in awhile, 78-79 is normal. The 125 is doing real good at 70 mpg.

This is like all Ford 390 engines become 428 or 427 on sale day. Just like a Chevy 396 becomes a 427 or 454 on sale day.

Have you ever done a full tank on slow backroad cruising bear? With aggresive riding, I would get 50-55mpg. Upper 60's when I was just commuting. I think 80mpg could be reached but not by most people.

That's what my Aero 80s gets doing the 35 mph cruise thing. There is no way a 125 being 50% bigger than the 80 is ever going to equal the Aero 80. The 125 has done a best of 68 mpg from me with a 40 mph cruise but I don't ride it much yet as I don't have it set up like I want it. Hopefully over the winter the second 80 get modded and two of the Aero 125s reach project completion.

You dumbass, I've learned something you seem incapable of learning. Real speed belongs on the track. I spend time within 5 mph of the speed limit all the time and where I live 30 mph is the unposted speed limit, so 35 mph is 5 over the speed limit.

Ever since I blocked all posts by maddog, it's like he doesn't exist. I've never had the impulse to reply to the idiot, and I wonder why you dont do the same, Bear.??????

Bear, I think you should take that as a suggestion from 2 of us. Put Maddog on your "foes" list so you don't have to read his posts.

I must admit that I did block him, but my curiosity makes me want to see what inane thing sprouts from his warped, inhuman, drug scrambled brain. So I look , I am weak.

Bear, if that's the case, then you have to take responsibility to treat the posts as you would other troll posts, and ignore them.

Maddog, I read your last 20 posts to see if you're telling anyone anything worthwhile. As usual, it's a mix.

I admitted to being weak. What more do you want? I'm too set in my ways to change very much. Besides my wife might give me the boot if I did change, she is used to me the way I am.

Greetings:

A few years ago I spent a week riding Big Bend National park with Ms. Wheelperson, Ol' Pal Hal (who sold me Flash I Aero...) and his wife.
The women we're new to 'cycles, and I was riding my late lamented 1200S on these beautifully-maintained roller-coaster roads bored to tears riding Sweep behind them.
They struggled even to Approach the posted 45 MPH Speed Limit. What to do?

I started to make a game of maxilizing mileage. Short-shifting at 2200 RPM and Chug-Chugging up hills in 5th, for about 80 miles, or enough to get a fair representation of mileage.

All said & done, it worked out to 72 MPG riding that way. Yes, 1203ccs, Keihin CV40.. I've never really measured Flash's mileage - fill from premix tank - but I'd be surprised if it topped 45. 72ccs, but slow cruise is still 7500 sucking through not-so-clean OKO 26.
Modding aint about good mileage, I guess, and riding commutes of ~50 miles a week, who cares? It'd be a problem for longer trips, though.

So the Buck-Quarter Aero gets 70-ish? Not bad for any 2-stroke. How big is the tank?
