I broke my muffler today! It broke right where it bolts on. I need a new pipe, might as well get a performace boost when i can afford it would appreciate any suggestions. Anyone know if I can use the pipe off my 86 spree on my 85 aero in the meantime? I tryed looking up the part numbers but they dont sell the spree one any longer so there was no number.
:peace:

Leo Vince SP3 exhaust for the 1985 Aero 50
Find the #4447 kit, which is for the 1985 Aero.

No, the Spree exhaust would be a downgrade even if you could get it to fit.

i know i have had a bit of bad luck, but one must scoot on! Pretty soon I'm gonna have a brand new 85 aero once i replace eveything, it seems. if i had a welder or knew how to weld i'd try that route but i have no expertise in such areas. someday id like to learn when i can afford more toys.

thanks for the gracious offer on the pipe, if thats one that would work well with my 85 aero, i may take you up on it. let me know what the shipping would be to FL please 34232.

in the mean time while i may try and use this special metal muffler tape to hold it together as a temp fix until i get a replacement. anyone ever use that stuff?

i rode my spree to the store today, man i felt like a snail trying to cross a 5 lane road! the spree is fun as * to ride because its so little its like a toy, but i wouldnt feel safe on any but the back roads on it around here. that extra 5 mph and much faster take off really make a big difference!

Theres 3 different chamber pipes available on YAHOO AUCTIONS JAPAN just put dj1r in the search bar and look thru the pages theres also lots of the factory honda expansion chamber pipes that came on the dj1r

these pipes are for the se50 4 bolt mani AF05E or the SE/05 block not the spree motor

Not everyone wants to go 60+ mph so your contention is WRONG!

Yeah, i can get to 35 pretty quick than maybe inch up to 36 or 37 with the right wind.
i'd be very happy to get it to go 45.

someday i may try and do an engine swap on my spree, that engine really isnt
so hot but i like the Aero engine, i think with some mods from following the upgrade path on the wiki
it will meet my needs.

I wanna try and keep the MPG in mind too.

oh by the way i saw theres aero carbs with bystarters new for like 40 bucks on ebay
that seems pretty cheap i might pick one up since i dont have a bystarter, not that it has effected
the performance anyway here in Fl.

If you can't find an aftermarket exhaust for your bike, you can use the stock exhaust from a 88-93 elite 50 lx/sr , 87 elite 50s or find another aero 50 one. They are good to about 55mph. You will need to swap to the 10to1 gears out of a se50 motor if you want to see the 50mph+ area and buy a aftermarket variator. And yes this can be done with a stock cylinder and carb/airbox.

Make sure it is an '85-87 aero 50, not the '83-84 aero 50.

83-84 Aeros are the best!!

If you want your original pipe fixed, let me know. Some of the members here are a fan of my welding.

The '83-84 Aero only had a 12 mm carb with a screw-in bystarter (AKA NLA) and the small carb hurts performance. The later Aero's all had 14 mm carbs.
