What is the big difference between a aero 50 and an elite?

The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

That is the 86-87 nb50. Comparable. To the 87-93 variated elite 50 engine.

Greetings:

Check out The Motorscooter Guide dot Net and read about the Two Aero 50 generations and three or four different types of Elite 50s.
The early ('87-'93) Elite (not "E") 50s shared the major AF05E engine components with the late Aero ('85-'87) 50s.
Guys here have swapped nearly every engine and frame combination there is, usually for the sake of going slightly faster.
The Aero has an interesting style, but available aftermarket upgrades are scarce and getting rarer. I got mine to approach 60.
I think someone here got his to run 280. He'll tell you that you can't get those "Old School" parts anymore, but not much else. :)

Cool, I bought it for 54.00 dollars with wiring, oil and fuel tank, front wheel.... Well everything but some plastic and the rest of the frame. I figured it was a good score.

Now, what do the 2000 honda elite 50 sr scooters normally sell for, in good condition? Or what is the most a guy should pay for one with 1800 miles? Thanks

Cosmetic condition, location and time of year matter, a lot.
About a grand is getting steep unless you're *-bent to get a 50 to mod.
Consider how much a good used 500cc Ninja might run.

Thanks, Wheelman. I dont think I will buy another sport bike. I rode a ZX6R Ninja for years, no fun at all compared to a 50cc. I love these things.

Greetings:

I agree that riding smaller, lighter, tighter and quicker-handling over war-torn city streets seems to be a lot more fun than the bigger bikes I used to ride. In matters of price, an Elite seller needs to keep in mind that competing used machines at the $1K price point can be a lot more capable, so seldom do you see an 11 year-old scooter fetching much more than that. Exceptions are sales to enthusiasts who appreciate modded bikes or stockers with great mod potential. Also certain members here who have turned down $5,000,000 for their Aeros. :)

Please forgive my Website error in a previous post. (now fixed, thanks EliteGuy50) The correct one is MotorScooterGuide.net The information there is mostly accurate and very thorough.

$400-$800 for one that has good plastic panels and a running engine.

Maddog is the only one who has a five million dollar aero..........but I think it is a time machine too, so the price is justified.

Greetings:

Just for the record, Jamz, Wheelman didn't mention any names. Or accurate prices neither. I let the reader speculate just whom I meant.

Flash III's previous owner had it on Craigslist for a whopping $1800. I talked him down some, but not nearly enough. However it had a credible 33 miles on the odometer and I really wanted a like-new 2001 with all its mod potential. After all, it's only money. I have no regrets, as it's turning 3300 miles (several different engine builds...) and has been as reliable as a Lindsay Lohan hangover.

I will never sell my Shasta white nb 50 at any price, not a speed demon, but classic styling, bought from a forum member and friend.
