In ignorant hindsight, I should have had one with me this morning when buying a scoot <sigh>, never again.
Will any of these kits work? if not, what one would be recommended?

I think this one -

or maybe this one is better to have the adapters. (minerelli is the 14 mm)
with this

Thumbs up?
Thanks!
don't laugh, but this is how I plan to check it after buying the kit, 13/16 spark plug socket, 14 mm adapter head, and quick connect.
Please advise if there are any steps missing.

The last gauge the one for $12.99 is the one I use. Don't use the adapter that comes with that gauge. The adapter adds to the head volume and will read a lower psi
Nothing like getting stroked!

That gauge will be good enough for your intentions. Don't snug it down like in the video. That will just roll out the o-ring, you need a flat gasket seal for that to work. Finger tight and watch that the o-ring does not roll out. You can also use this on your Aero 50.
For the video: be sure the kill switch is in the kill position. That will keep you from an accidental shock (not fun).

Guys please don't laugh that I am still a little confused (I'm just a visual learner).
So should i just buy this? as it has a 14m adapter?
http://www.harborfreight.com/quick-conn ... 95187.html
and then just not tighten it, but have a good seal while being careful of the O ring?
lol stupid utube... made it look so frick'n easy ..
and where should the pressure be on a minarelli? (might only have the kick option as the battery may need replacement)
found the manual and printed it...lol almost a whole ream!
Compression pressure (at sea level)
Standard 114 psi
Minimum 85 psi
So how do you adjust for altitude? 6000'?

That is the kit I have because it also works with gy6 motors. This one is all you need for the aero and minarelli:donut wrote:Guys please don't laugh that I am still a little confused (I'm just a visual learner).

The shorter the hose the better with small cc engines.
This is the one I like best. Not cheap but mine is over 40 years old and going strong.

Those are excellent as long as you have room for them in the engine compartment.Bear45-70 wrote:The shorter the hose the better with small cc engines.

Re: Which if any of these compression test kits?
I have never seen a scooter, on the center stand with the suspension extended that the little gauge won't fit, even with and adapter attached. The gauge dial head is only 1" in diameter and is designed to fit inside the lower engine cowl on an outboard. You can't even screw in a regular compression tester in there without an adapter on it. This thing is small.eliteguy50 wrote:Those are excellent as long as you have room for them in the engine compartment.Bear45-70 wrote:The shorter the hose the better with small cc engines.

That's better than mine was. It had a 3 inch face and the valve assembly was probably 2 inches.
