As one who also owns an '87 SE50 and who was also involved in a bad accident last October (on another bike - an '86 CH150D Elite) I can definitely relate to your situation. I'm glad to hear that except for the broken finger you're OK and as far as the scooter is concerned, it's replaceable. Hopefully the other party has insurance and you'll be adequately compensated for both your injury and your scooter. Take care,

Bill in Seattle :coolcruise:

So true, the mechanical things can be replaced, although sentimental value cannot.
Here's to you healing fast. I've had a few close calls too (while riding and driving). :nervous:

Many times, it's the inattention of the driver that is the cause. Also these types of incidents seems to be more frequent when the driver is 'in a hurry' (which often times I remind myself whenever I am in a hurry also, so I do my best to calm down during driving and/or riding and whenever I see another 'rider' to give him/her the extra room that they need).

I'm glad you're alright (even though you've hurt your finger, it could've been worse). Do you know if you'll get compensation for the replacement of your bike? It's a sucky way to start your vacation!

Yeah once they pay me compensation for damages and health costs. I might keep the parts as my buddy in Michigan where I plan to move to soon anyways has similar bikes and could use em more then me. I plan to get a brand new bike with the compensation.

I have a lawyer coming over tommarow to talk about what were going to do and how to pursue the case.

I am sorry to hear that you went down! May you heal quickly, and get alot more than fair compensation for your hospital bills and the loss of your ride.
