Barn Find - Spree?

New to the forum. I found this Spree in a barn, and now am trying to figure out what to do with it. It is very dusty, and has not run in a while. Looking for guidance and assistance in properly identifying year/model, etc. Pics attached. Thanks for the help!

look underneath and you should see a sticker that will tell you the year. if it doesnt have a kick start then 84-85. if it does then its 86. the 87 has the petcock molded into the plastics, where as the 84-86 it is a seperate piece. lots of great info here to get her running again. d/l the manual from this site. o im digging the dalek avatar. and welcome to the forum

I think there is a kick start but no glovebox.... if so, '86

Yup its an '86.

You can see the kickstarter in one pic, meaning its either '86 or '87. But then looking at the blinkers you can see its an '86.

kickstart may have been added i have picked up 2 85 sprees that had kickstarts. check the sticker on the frame it will telll you for sure! And as for getting it running first thing i would do is get a new battery, fresh fluids (after cleaning gas and oil tank), give the carb a good cleaing, new spark plug, and try and start that pig. oh and new fuel line would be good too i use a clear one so i can see whats going on in it. Good luck!

You guys are good! It has a kick start, I can't find a glove box, but I found a plate and registration from 2007 stating it is a 1986! The only damage I can find is a chip off the shroud around the headlight. I took a few more pics in the sunlight. I appreciate the tips so far. I may not have time to mess with it until after the 4th of July, but I will keep researching.

The glove box on the 84-86 models are exceedingly rare and hard to find, if you do find one you are looking to pay around 50 bucks for it. They were an optional accessory whereas they were built in to the 87 model. The 87 glovebox can be modified to fit the earlier years and in my opinion are a tad roomier and stylish A plus though you have the petcock cover and the battery cover, 2 items that usually get lost

Why? My '85 came that way and the rear basket is a bunch more useful than the front, it is bigger.

Bear's cover is heading back to the west coast after picking up some high falute'n culture out here on the east coast.

Besides has anyone seen those bear claws, don't want to mess with that
