Sounds like the variator is stuck in low or the wrong gears.

I just swapped out the ramp the Kelly pulley came with and put in a sef ramp. Changed out 3 of the weights that were kinda flat spots in um. But all are still 9g weights. It did a little better, power dying at about 37, 38 MPH. Also I was riding and grabbed the spark plug wire and I got zapped. Not too sure but I don't think its supposed to do that. Grounding out? Maybe losing power through the wires?

If the variator is shifting then the gear ratio is way to low.

Okay so any suggestions on gearing I should go with? Also I'm picking up a 72cc polini corsa on Wednesday, the guy said I should go with 7:1 gears.

That looks like you have afo5e cases but it looks like af16e covers. I wasn't aware they would fit. I would definitely find out before you drop $350.

does the aero come with the af05? the guy that i bought it off had to cut out some of the panel from the glove box on the side to fit the motor thats on there now. said the new motor was a little too big so he made some modifications to the glove box.

The 1985 thru 1987 Aero have the AF05e engine. The 1983 & 1984 were different.
