Found an 85 aero 80 for $500

Man I'm excited, ever since my friend got her 85 aero 80 I've been looking for one. Found one sounds promising too, called and left a message and email. No pic though, going with cash in had as soon as they call me back to go check it out. Wahhhh I want it. I was looking at buying a brand new Honda pcx 150, but I diddnt want to part with my hard earned $4776.00 for one, and it wasn't 2 stroke

A good home it will have, I promise. A set of boysen 2 stage reeds and a 90 jet are going get ordered as soon as its in my yard.

Good luck on you Pat... 
Sold my 80 before having it properly road-worthy.
I think I shorted myself there by only getting my money back.
However, it was a matter of flipping it to acquire a much more desirable bike, so not regretting.
That would be the Pacific Coast...pic attached.
The '85 Aero 50 was sooooo sweet, and you know my opinion of Ruby.
The 80 is sure to please.
Honestly though, that front fender has a strange cut to it that misses the mark a bit.

Thanks Mike, I just spoke to the owner, I'm going to snag it tomorrow morning. Sounds like all it will need is a quick carb clean and its ready to rock. She drove it last over a year ago, and she said that if she diddnt put stabilizer in the tank it got gummed up and had to go see the dealer after a year. I think she is the original owner how cool would that be. And to top it off she lives a few houses down from my best friend I work for in the band so I can leave it there if it won't fit on my rack which I'm going out side to finish now. patthesoundguy does a happy dance

Good luck Pat, I have a blue '85 80 and love it. However, I find myself hopping on the 125 more and more just to keep up with 45+ mph traffic. The 80 will keep up but not as well.
I am very interested to hear how much you get out of just the reed swap. Hopefully you will be able to evaluate how much difference the reed swap makes on an otherwise stock 80.

Done the reed swap and 90 jet to a friends 85 aero80 and the bottom end is like night and day will almost wheelie

With boysen #740 reeds a little portmatching in the intake tube and roughed it up proper, 90 jet instead of 88. Bottome end is wicked and top speed went up to 44mph from a little under 40mph. And i havent checked her belt or variator yet. So imagine what a new belt and some variator work could do.

Been to dmv got plate. Its all legal now. And I got it running. Starts first push of the button. Fresh tank of fuel and some seafoam in there. Just gave it a once over with the rag and some wd40. It looks awesomee a pretty great find
