Yup found this on my local craiglist.

Its owned by an older lady who bought it brand new back in 1994 and has kept it garaged the whole time.

She asking 850$ and pretty much firm on the price.

Has 41xx miles. Great looking condition, ima go take it for a spin later today.

Is this a decent price on it, or should i pass? I do really want it :P

Greetings:

If you have the coin and you really want it, it's a good value To YOU. 1994 is the first year AF16 - a "Bookend" model to my 2001. It looks almost as good as mine did 3 years ago with 33 miles on the Odo. That is not a typo. Thirty-three. Yours even has the fancy color-matched blue rims. I say offer Kelley Value of $605 and see if she loves it more than you do. You can print that link for her. Or the $305 "Trade-In Value". Of course, dealing with People isn't like them-thar Suhtatistics. Check NADA.com for more comparisons.

Yea ill try offering her the blue book, but i asked her if she would come down any when i first called her to see if she still had and she didn't seem like she would.

Id hate to miss out on it but also dont wanna pay to much more than its worth.

Are these 2 stoke or 4 stroke? KBB says 4.

Yea i hope she comes down some, but i may end up buying it either way haha!

Will be nice addition to my 2 honda spree's!

I read these can get to 50 mph pretty easy, just changing the gears right?

It is really nice but also priced at the ceiling ('94, stock, 4000+ miles)...
If you can pay $250 over what it would usually sell for... take it with you along with any printouts supporting your $600 offer ... hopefully it runs a lil sluggish to give you some negotiating stance...i'd offer $600 and then nudge up to $650 (lets her "win" a little by you paing over Kelly...as it is not low mileage...)

GL

the $200 saved will give you a a start to enhance the scoot's speed...

Just me, but I wouldn't talk price until I'm in person and take it for a ride...
and I wouldn't wait to go over to check it out...

haha i was gonna say, if you think $600 is a lot for that try going to hawaii to buy one. Ive seen stock ones sell for $2000+ like what maddog said, in worse condition.

X2. Seeing the cash walk away is harder than saying no on the phone. You could also ask for maintenance records, if they don't have any, ask for a discount to account for a Honda dealer inspection ($100 here)

I think the 850 is market price, it is a one owner, great body, relatively low miles, and a Honda.

You know I'm a fan of yours, but do you really think 4xxx is low miles?
and I wonder about the mileage (considering the condition) ... what if the seller accidently included the 1/10 digit? has happened before...

Well i bought it! Thing drove like it was still new. After some tough negotiation, i got it for 750$.

She loved the thing, so i new it was kept in perfect condition. She only used honda oil in it for the last 19 years.

She put a new battery and spark plug and filled the tank full of gas before she put it up forsale.

Glad i got it!

Ill be posting another thread soon about some mods i wanna do to it!

Thanks for the help guys!

4k is low compared to '94s in my area. (Is it weird that I look at odometers on other scooters?) I've seen 12k on new looking scooters. Unlike kids, adult owners tend to take better care and replace broken parts.
