New Elite E

So I made another barn find - an Elite E. However it had a very strange little addition - someone retrofitted a GY6 china flywheel and stator to the motor. Thankfully, the stock parts were under the seat. Question is, why would anyone want to do that? Besides, when you kick it over, it makes a horrible grinding sound, and it feels like the flywheel and stator don't have proper clearances.

Going to put stock parts back on tomorrow and see if it'll get spark. One of the windings on the stator was nicked by a fan bolt - but barely grazed, not broken/cut. Crossing my fingers hoping it still works. If it does, I'll be buying a fan cover/fan for starters.

I'm going to dig more into it tomorrow and check it out. If I can't get it running, I'm going to part it out here. The motor has excellent compression.
