Hopefully picking it up tonight, just got off the phone with the guy. Ill post pics as soon as I get it. Its going to be a neat build.

The EFI engine never worked right and you can't slap a bore kit on it cuz the brainbox will blow it up, this is the word i got from a local dealer who dumped that scoot :surprise:

Be careful with the crank splines.. They are fragile as *.. ask me how I know.

Is this 2000 aprilia a di-tech model? I have a 2000 as well but it is carbed.

I have the 2000 Morini DiTech, and Ive already talked to the leading tuner on them in the world, Rich at High Gain tuning. He has the turbo charged 2000 Aprilia SR50 ditech that I may copy the build for. Ill be spending around 3k for the build Im guessing then another 1-2k on the drive train. If not it will be a serious beast regardless.
And for Maddog, these engines have been deregulated and tuned with Aprilia released Gameboy Cartridges since 2002, and the dealer should have known this. I guess your dealer must not have access to parts the rest of the Aprilia dealers did.

This guy knows his stuff and Ill be going to his shop next time Im in Denver to buy and few things and have him remap my ECUs. I bought 3 off ebay and will use 3 different maps including one with the Gameboy link set up with a slight low end increase set to base. When I go up there Im going to have him dyno a few of my toys.

In 2000 there was a carb and a ditech version, one was called SR50 Factory which is what I have. Graphite will be getting the one with the dellorto waterjet/piaggio purejet engine which is far superior and far more expensive. I have a rare version of the 2000.

I got two for the price of one and now I rarely ride my Honda's. My carbed Minarelli 99 is a beast, Arrow pipe and Polini 70 cc kit 60mph plus! Front and rear disc and 13" wheels make a plush ride on the rough 3rd world streets in my Austin neighborhood. My 02 is a Ditech purchased not running and has proven to be a complicated beast. I spent a couple days diagnosing error codes and testing electrical stuff then gave up :evil: I am in the process of removing fuel inj. and mounting a carb ... not a fan of the over-engineered pricey ditech stuff

Here is mine, 40 original miles (yes 40.0 total) Top performance BBK (pink one), Top performance Nardo Pipe, not sure what else. All I know for sure is the bore must be rusty from sitting in a garage for years because the compression is at around 70psi. I need to tear it down and look at it. But the whole water cooled portion is making me lazy. I hate coolant on my shop floor and my coolant catcher is full.

Those are all sweet, making me jealous. Mines still in a box and Im trying to complete the 94cc Evolution kit on the piaggio LT50 before I get to it which the piaggio is after the 2000 yamaha LT80 quad(uses a minarelli based 80cc with a cvt), thats after 2 kymco zx50, and 1 af16e LC 121cc stroker. Im trying to get at least the LC stroker together in the next week.
Those Jasil/top racing parts are nice, that pipes really for higher rpms more than anything. Dont fear the little bit of coolant, its super simple to work on.
