Just bought a 1989 Honda Elite e

The battery was dead so I hooked up a charger but it wouldn't hold charge. I kick started it and it runs fine although it smoked a bit because the guy I bought it from hasn't run it in months. The seat lock mechanism was mangled and inop so I straightened it out and now it locks. Has 2700 miles and I paid $300.
