i have a 1986 spree still and it still dont start i put a new top end in and it has 115 psi compression but its just not sucking on the carb could this be a bad reeed valve because i took it off and it looks to be stuck open just a tiny bit

for temp fix just flip them over, and if they are open a bit say 1mil, the bike should still run because the return wave will close the reeds,by right you can actually run the bike with out reeds, it will run like crap,but it will run.
