I had a kit burn up a piston but the replacement piston worked great. I doubt it was just an airleak but you never know. Redeft was the supplier back in the day.

I had mine melt the piston through on the first day of riding after the break in. The temps diddnt rise above 325F it was a major bummer. It had that chalky look to it.

I had a vespa 200 with a MHR 220cc piston that I paid $300 for to have installed and bored and it melted and had obvious castingmarks and the shape was off. It wasn't chalky to say, but it had a very funky pattern of ripples on the side where it had kinda gernaded.

This kit, or one very similar, but from Florida.

Was it bored out stock cylinder or a mhr kit? A 221cc mhr vespa Cosa would be sweet.

It was that piston, or a copy of it and I had the local shop just bore it and port it.

Got it local. Been running my mhr bore for 6yrs now and recently with the yasuni on it kinda wore down its compression. it's gonna need a new piston and rings soon

I got my MHR from Wheelman and I'm pretty sure he got it from Redetf. He put about 400 miles on it and I've got about 100 on it and no problems to date.

nonetheless I wouldn't be happy about that. Im not stating that malossi sells bogus kits, I'm just trying to pinpoint where the counterfeit mhr kits are being sold. Malossi doesn't deserve the brand blemish.
Im betting all the clones are coming from the same factory or are made by the same people. My fake piston kit had a brand of rings called PCK never been able to find them.
Got the piston from a discount supply warehouse deal.

I had a issue with the malossi small shaft crank .There was too much left to right play in the rod bearing .Stock dio was about 10 - 13 tho this malossi had 27 tho way to much float .I bought from red eft who was great to deal with he contacted malossi they said service limit was 25tho .It had a horrible rattling at idle and off throttle .I took it to a shop here and they pressed the crank closing it up to 14tho and trued it up i reinstalled and my noise was gone .
