Re: ****Official Picture Post****
Hi there, welcome to Canada:
I have some pictures of this bad, bad boy on flickr.
When I say "bad", I mean "bad". This is a 1985 model that I bought used when my car was out of comission. Used is right. I got about three weeks and 400km out of it before the engine went "BANG" on the way home from work and never started again. Poor compression (75 psi). Took the carburetor and engine apart, and I suspect in it's history someone tried to hotrod it and was somewhat unsuccessful.
I bit the bullet and ordered new bits from my local Honda dealer. We'll see if I can put this thing back to rights. I was surprised how cheap everything was overall - except the cylinder ($195 canadian). I probably could have bought another bike for that, or put the money into something better, but I seem to be stupid for things like this.
Incidentally, I didn't ride in the snow. It snowed after I got home. It's spring now, really it is.

Yeah man, you're looking at it! The snow goes from 4 feet in the winter to 6 inches in the summer.SpyderMike wrote:you have spring in canada?cogswell wrote:Incidentally, I didn't ride in the snow. It snowed after I got home. It's spring now, really it is.

That looks great. It is so close to perfect I have two suggestions for you-Johnny5 wrote:My 87 Aero. Rebuilt the motor. lighter rollers. Love it.
1. Use some flat black BBQ grill paint for the pipe and muffler to get rid of the rust.
2. Get rid of the milk crate and use a black or white bicycle basket. The crate looks out of place on that fine machine.

Well its another rainy day, I finally got around to messing with pics.
Here's my 87 Elite S, photo is probably from 04-05. I bought it bone stock is great condition, and being a stupid kid, took it home and proceeded to rip off the basket, glovebox, turn signals, and I dropped it to the ground.
Stayed like that due to lack of AF05 mods. It got stunted more and more until finally it was a POS and retired behind my house.
Earlier this year I happened to be at the local Honda dealership, eyehumping the streetbikes, when a group of my friends all came around the corner on elites (there were about 6 of them). Whenever you see a crew on peds its justs lights a fire in your soul, so I had to get mine going. I asked about motors and one of them had an extra AF16 block.
After a few headaches it goes.
I'm kinda in cleanup mode before I start my go fast mods. Reupholstered my seat, added a temp gauge, made my own drop shocks. Just got to repaint a few panels and it should be good, it just rains too much.

1988 Elite ES 50
Here's my 1988 Elite ES that hasn't seen a lot of road time, and especially not much in the past 15 years or so. Only about 960-something miles on her. And, now it's finally getting ridden. It is all stock except for the stripes I painted on it back in '89. Gas mileage has been in the mid 80s or so. These pics were taken about a week ago.

I picked up a tricycle for my 2 year old daughter at a garage sale for $15. Now she has a bike to match her old man.
