Engine and gear oil Elite CH125 1984

Just got a 1984 Ch125.

Changed engine oil with 15w-40 since I had it from my CT90.
I read that the manual states both engine and gear oil are the same being 10w-30. Is this so? I hear people using gear oil 80-90.
I’m more of a manual following type of guy but is 15w-40 gonna be okay for both applications? I want to change the trans case oil tomorrow.

Yes, your 15w40 will be okay for the gearbox. Most Honda scooters specify 10w40. Do not use 80/90w.
