Blinker question...

Post by dr.ona »

Can a regular blinker relay from a car replace the one that is for a 1986 Honda Spree? Mine is shot and I just found out that there $47 to replace.....kinda spendy. Has anyone replaced one with an over the counter relay from NAPA? I'm not talking about one from some new huge 4x4 Ford pickup...maybe something from a smaller car.

Did you have to splice anything, etc to get this to work, or does it plug in?

Only downfall is with many of those you cannot hear the clicking when the turn signals are activated.

I suspect a lot of mods could be done. Several years ago, I had a 350 Honda with a bad coil. I put a Ford coil on it, strapped to the frame with a large radiator clamp. Worked great.
