Turning my 86 spree into a hunting machine.

The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

Turning my 86 spree into a hunting machine.

Post by mrhappy »

So I bought an awesome working spree for $200.00 and I'm turning it into an off road moped to bring me to my blind and back. Its about a 2 mile trip from camp to my blind, all on a nice dirt/grass path. I'm going to clear it of big sticks and everything.

I plan on mounting a gun case to front plastic to carry my gun. Probably carry bait in a back pack and have supplies strapped down in a milk crate on the back. Just got new tires and a battery and cleaned up everything. Any possible ideas or suggestions on how do or why not do this? thanks!

If you paint it camo I want to see pics.

They actually made a front rack for these, you might look into getting/making one as a better front rifle carrier.

Only problem I see is that the way a Spree is clutched, it wants to go 15-20 MPH. Under about 15 it doesn't have much torque. But I'm guessing the land will be flat.

I'm serious about those pics.

Don't want to throw any sand in the gears, but I think you're going to be disappointed.
Low torque, loose gravel or sand, over weighted etc....
I would like to see a camo paint job though.....

Right, depends on the road surface. Packed dirt/clay shouldn't be bad.

Having no get up and go at low speeds is going to be a huge problem. I was too excited to even think about that..... Maybe I should trade it for a 3 or 4 wheeler. :D
