speedometer help!

Okay I cant get my speedometer to work. I have a brand new cable checked both connections and nothing. Anyone help me out would be greatly greatly appreciated. Also Does anyone know what number for the turn signal light bulbs...like my car is 1156? Just curious if they were numbered same type of system
