taking out air box and adapting a filter straight on carb?

The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

what's required, is it a straight swap or do you need to change the main jets as to not let it lean out?

Yes you have to change the main jet. I use a K&N cone filter on my Spree. I first went to a #70 and that worked well. Allthough after smoothing out the intake I had to go to a #80. I tried a #75 but it wasn't enough.

I hope this helps. good luck.

you can get them from your local honda bike dealer. they are specific to the carb in the spree. they cost about $5.00 CAD.

I forget to mention that I have also drilled out the baffels in the exhaust pipe. this allows the bike to breath better.

there are instructions on how to do all this stuff on this site and also in the forums of www.expresslymopeds.com.
