Christmas comes early: My New Scoots! (56k nono)

Post by burnt_toast »

Yup, that├óÔé¼Ôäós right folks I├óÔé¼Ôäóve just picked up two more scooters over the Thanksgiving holidays! :D

One of them has been a deal that I actually setup over 2 months ago but have kept secretly under wraps, and the other was a recent surprise find that I could just not refuse for the price. They were picked up on the way as my friend and I headed up to Dallas 400 miles away, both scoots being 5 miles within each other. Both have been sitting and don├óÔé¼Ôäót run, but all I can say is I├óÔé¼Ôäóm purely ecstatic with both of them and almost at a loss for words..

The recent deal scooter is a 1995 Honda Elite SR50 that I haggled down from $350 to 120 bucks! All the panels are in rough shape, but she turns over and has compression. The guy who sold it was pretty cool and might be able to get me the title too. Not sure on the future plans for this one, but buying it was a no brainer in my mind. :P

Now, for the suppa top secret scooter deal├óÔé¼┬ª

   A GENUINE JDM IMPORTED FROM JAPAN 1993 HONDA DIO!!!!!

How this sweet taste of true scootering beauty fell into my arms still amazes me, but just having her here in my possession feels awesome. If I sound overboard, I don├óÔé¼Ôäót really care, this is an INCREDIBLY RARE find that I would not have ever expected...

And an added BONUS???

Fully modified by a performance shop in Japan to a claimed 125cc STROKER

Plus many more goodies, from what I├óÔé¼Ôäóve seen so far:
Tubular stroker pipe (check out the comparison to my Elite├óÔé¼Ôäós PG Long and Vento PG pipe down below) not sure what brand, Disk front end with 220mm POP Oversize Diskbrake and RPM caliper! 5 spoke ZX rims with Maxxis tires, Quick action throttle, Larger intake manifold similar to CT, 28mm Keihin Carburetor, Larger rear pulley! (note in pics, not sure if dio block has it stock or its aftermarket), aftermarket variator likely too, rear grab bar and flush tail, clear turns up front and headset, sidestand. I will find out more once the restoration begins, likely sometime over Christmas break so stay tuned. 8)

Here are pics of my Honda Family :)

NEAT! Looks sensitive to cooling with 3x the motor on the same blower, watch your jetting CLOSE.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

I know man, I was freakin stoked when I first saw the ad! The second Elite was just icing on an already very delicious cake :P

A out of town scooter friend called me up and said dude there is a DIO up in dallas! So I go and start searching for elites, get nothing I'm like well that was pointless.. OH WAIT what IF he actually meant DIO?! So I search and low and behold! And now she sits under a tarp in my backyard

And Kenny you are right, and that is big reason why many go to watercooled once stroked. I'm not totally positive that its a true 125cc since the seller was unsure of what the Japan shop built it to, but judging by the clearance of the AC cover and thick head fins.. it aint stock

I will try to be careful and restore this one slowly, trying to find out as much as I can beforehand. Stay posted folks 8)

Last final tomorrow Tuesday, then I hope to finally have some free time..

Tentative plans are to finish small side projects with Zip and Jog before I start up on the new Hondas, right now both have just been sitting under a Tarp. Cats may be using them for living quarters is about the biggest update right now
