Hello all (LOTSA Pics up ahead)

Post by sanj72 »

Hey there people. I have been lurking here on the site for some time. I have a few scoots myself.(2) 99 elites s , (1) 88 elite e & a FrankenSpree I had steve @ vt cylces build me a 85cc motor back in 2002. I would like to post some pics. Hoew would I go about doing that. Got a question though can anything be done to a 1984 aero as far as mods? Thanks in advance

Welcome

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

Only 5 months here myself. I have an '87 Aero. There were lots of changes in some critical dimensions between your '84 and the AF 05 E (commonly but incorrectly referred to as the SE50 here...) that adorns my Aero. Transmission drive shaft, for one example, grew from 14.5 to 17 mm. This and other running gear changes limit the availability of go-slightly-faster parts for your bike. That's not to say performance cannot be improved, but just that there are few bolt-on options.

I like the style of the '83-'84 Aeros better myself. Get ready for a lotta "Dude, swap in a Dio!' Welcome to the Forum.

The 83/84 motor has no upgrade parts.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Thanks for the input. I was looking at the manual & it shows rollers & a variator. Does any other variator fit it. I figure that I would pick this scooter up for cheap & put the 85cc sa50 motor on it. I could then trans plan the aero motor onto the spree & sell the spree.

Variatin'

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

The variator slides onto splines carved into the left crank end. The shaft diameter and spline count may be the same - I'm inclined to believe they are but that's what you need to verify. I'll send you my stock Aero variator if you like. If it fits, then so do the rest. See For sale section

Pipe

Post by sanj72 »

I wish that I left the pipe alone it's been modified again to fit the purple elite s. It didn't perform as good as I wanted it to. It was originally a pipe for a nb50. It's a proma. I also picked up a proma 47mm bore kit for the sa50. I will try it with a r1 26mm pipe that I have. Regarding the Zuma I don't know anything about it yet. I sent the seller an email. It says it's a
93 but I have not found any info on a 93 zuma. It's a toss up between the zuma & the 84 aero. What do u guys think

Good my eye

Post by sanj72 »

Why yes it is an m3. I'm thinking about selling the an it has about 890 miles on it. The zuma owner said that when he gives it gas the wheel doesn't spin. But it has a high speed pulley. I think that I will take my tool box w/me. Fingers are crossed. what all can be done to a zuma
