CRAZY CUSTOM SPREE!!! no...

Post by vette76 »

well myspree inspired me because he wants to customize his. so i got my * out of the chair and unburied the ol' spree. i have kinda neglected it since the elite project so i figured i would start something with that.(like i dont have enough unfinished projects). i was thinking of lowering it crazy low.(which would mean no front suspension) lowering the bars. frenching the rear tails.
but keeping it rideable and still have everything work. just hidden.

i took this mock up pic to try to visualize what it would look like. keep in mind it is only mocked up. for instince... the headlight is too far out in the pic because the bars are lowered. (requires bodywork)

let me know what u think, and any suggestions i would be happy to hear.

heres the pic

sounds like a plan. be warned. i took the tail lgts off and the frame goes back farther then i thought it did. this means some frame cutting is required. just a little off the back. it doesnt really effect its strength because there is nothing there. i am gonna box it in just to be safe tho, even tho its not really required. the other thing is the tail light is too wide so u will have to trim the sides so it fits right. since the body would cover the sides it doesnt really make a difference anyway.(and i know people will be * because of what i am doing. but u have to sacrifice for customization.lol.)

oh, plus i have another frame.

yea im chopping mmy back end to but im re welding it even stronger that it was befor and im gonna make it incoporate the light placement. and im gonna fiber glas the light in. so its gonna be an extetion on the side skirts that cover the open hole in the back and make a light housing. and the light will be incorporated into the frame so it will be there for always unless i unbolt it. you have to get a aol so we can talk it over on that itle be easyer.

That looks ridiculous, you should put a Yamaha sticker on it not to embarrass Honda.

I think you should paint it white and black zebra stripe with the drop. And matching zebra skin seat.

Better yet, white/grey/black urban camo with a .5" - 1" lift and XR50 knobbies. Add a couple of 20W foglamps to a custom front rack.

I can't fathom lowering the Spree any farther; I'm already skidding the floorboards on corners (and I only weigh 165#.) Maybe I just need to corner less aggressively.

No, raise it for cornering clearance. The knobbies are for psuedo-offroading. Like ppl that buy a Jeep and never take it in the dirt.
