Well I was all excited to show some more new picks of my scoot....... BUT....

The brake cable I received is not worthy of my scoot and I must now pursue another.

With what's been going on with my move I have had limited time to finish this scoot. Here though are some updated photos of where it stands as almost completed......

I painted on a silver stripe onto the speedo plastic to tie both colors in.Image

These emblems came off an old Honda motorcycle gas tank. I thought they looked cool so I added them.

Greetings:

I don't know if there are Aeros in Heaven - If not who wants to go there? Anyway if there are some, they must look a lot like yours. Incredible job!

Thanks for the great feedback guys!

It was a lot of hard work and I'm happy with the results.

I will buy another scoot when this one is done for sure.

This has been alot of fun and I don't want it to end! :D

Wow. That is glorious. The color scheme works great.

Where'd you get the aero sticker? Custom sticker site?
And adding a voltometer...swank. Did you just use a regular voltometer from a hardware store and gut/re-route it? Do you have to change the battery on it the voltometer, or is that somehow hooked up to scoot battery too?

I'm in the process of painting my Aero right now as well. Could you go into the torch method you talked about? I'm not 100% sure I can do it on mine, as I have numerous ABS cement repairs that might not stand up well to heat.

Also, can you list the any of the adhesion/primer/paint/CC's you used?
I've been looking at using all all flex agent stuff, but the adhesion/primer/paint/CC is all together going to cost me about $83, I was hoping there might be a cheaper way and still avoid the spider cracks.

To reiterate once more: That Aero is H-O-T HOT.

Sorry to butt in here Novs - hope you don't mind.

The pre-torching only applies to the polypropylene or polyethylene parts like the floorboard or inside front panel of some scoots since they have very poor paint adhesion even with promotors. Most of the rest of the panels are ABS which do paint OK. Don't heat those or they will deform!

Edit -afterthought

The ABS repair technique does not work well for polyethylene/polypropylene only ABS panels. Just about the only good solution is heat welding.

Thanks for making sure that was clear. The word "polyproplyene" wasn't ringing any bells when I posted, but it did later.
I'll be interested to see how the floor paint job stands up.

What paint / method did you use? Looks very good, probably one of the best scoots on here.
