Dude sweet find on the Gyro. Looks very similar to mine! I have that plastic peice that is cutout for the battery on yours except mine is in better shape. pm me if interested. How much you pick up that Gyro for?

Have you seen the earlier model Gyro? Maybe you'll want to get one of those too :naughty:

How did you end up getting it shipped? Also curious to what parts did you snag off that Aero to fix your Gyro?

Thanks I got the Black Gyro for $400.00 I only saw a very dark pic on craigs list . I called the seller and he was a really really nice guy and actually pulled the ad after I told him I wanted to get it . He even put up with my many phone calls and really went way way way out of his way to help me out with everything . He was even going to send it up with his neighbour ,so I could just look at it and decide if I wanted it but it would have been 2 weeks , And I knew I would need some parts sooner or later and I thought it would be worth it in parts .But the bike really has been sitting for years you could just tell by the dust and dirt on the inside , but it has been running really well but I think I am going to try to get a carb kit later this week and redo it .As for the 1984 Gyros , They just dont do it for me the kick starter would be a good thing but you cant have everything . As for the shipping a nightmare ... prices ranged from $400. to $500.00 I finally called a great guy in Vegas he said $ 65.00 and $25.00 for pallet and shrink wrapping it .Done ! (I posted some stuff on here about shipping ) , well everything was going great until I had to deal with Carla in San Francisco to arrange pick up .... she was jacking me around and the price was going up so I called the Vegas guy and he came through $ 95.00 total . Here are some pics .Thanks for letting me know you have some parts , As for the parts for my gyro I have an extra back panel that is not cut and some other bits and pecies but some stuff is rough some is like new . I got the Aero because I needed stupid stuff and just sold all the plastic on this site for $100. it was all in great shape . I used a hand break switch / the plastic wheel in the front hub that runs the speedo $20.00 from Honda / I hope the alternator will fit even though the part numbers are different / I used a lot of the bolts / some of the electrical stuff whenever I needed some connectors i took them off the Aero / also the hand break levers and like I said just goofy stuff . I actually used the kick start for a Chinese bike I got today for $40.00 I was messing with it and got it started after sitting in the Vegas sun for 2 years and tons of sand everywhere all I wanted was some of the chrome stuff like a peice off the fender and the gas gauge I was going to put the Aero gas tank on the red Gyro as it looks to be the same size but has wires for a gas gauge Dont ask I just thought it might be cool . But after getting it started I am thinking do some goofy stuff to it I saw a pic of a guys bike on here and he painted it ARMY green and had Army decals on it and I thought it looked pretty cool , I hate to be a copy cat but it did look different and after I thought about it, how much could it cost ? just go to a army surplus and get a bunch of stuff slap it on ... bang!... done .Or I was thinking do a Beverly Hillbilly bike use old rusty cans for the headlight and signals get a old blanket for the seat find some really old wood and cover the plastics with wood slats or fence post wood but really messed up like peeling paint , glue band aids to the wheels try to cover the rims in wood . OK here are some pics ...

Here is some of the plastic I sold to a guy that contacted me on this site . The stuff he wanted was in great shape ,so it worked out .

My $40.00 Chinese Zscooter sat for 2 years outside in the Vegas sun I had it running in less than an hour .
The seller wanted $60 but I really only wanted some of the chrome and a gas gauge and signal lites .
I offered $40 and a ten doller coupon at JC Pennys that I got out of sundays paper . I was on my way to JC Pennys
and stopped to look at the bike first . It is still made in China so you know there will be problems . But I did put a Honda kick start arm on it . Also the ARMY idea was something I saw a guy do on this site . I hate to be a copy cat but he did have a great idea .
And it will cost like nothing to do 1 stop at Bucks Army Surplus they even have the army paint ...

Hey, I dunno how late this is....

But I had a similar headlight problem on my Spree. The stator was out, even though most people say that never breaks...

Just some helpful advice

Thanks Pirate
You have no idea how many hours and hours and even more hours checking everything ... I got to the point where I just raised the white flag and gave up and ended up making a (Y) connection and married the headlight to the turn signal power supply I figured it takes the least amount of power and I never use my signal lights anyway / I have the wiring diagram memorized I would go to sleep and have nightmares about GYRO wiring I am very nervous about opening up the engine on the Gyro because it is different from every other Honda engine and your right the Stator is the only thing left I wish it was something else ... Taz is quite confidant that he can fix it , so my Gyros charging system will be in his hands . But thanks again for the advice .
