CONGRADULATIONS ...
Can I ask some questions now ?
I can't belive how great that cover came out .
How the * did you get the honda logo to come out ?
Did you use a plaster of paris mold ?
OK how many hours do you have in it ?
Ah for the logo did you just use resin ?
Then glass the rest ?
Do you think the tabs will hold ?
Or did you put in some fabracated plastic tabs ?
Was that your first attempt ?
If not how many did you make to get that one ?
Did you have to bondo any of the cover ?
Or did it come out perfect first time ?
Did you do more than one coat of fiberglass ?
Dan thing of beauty ...
I couldn't help myself with the first reply ... Your so lucky I didn't put * in but I don't want to get people in trouble .
I was honestly shocked , blown away .
Good for you .... Again OUTSTANDING !!!
One more thing Jason great photos .

Freaking me out......except for the slight hiccup in the letters, this cover rocks!!!.....sure beats anything I could have produced.....would pay fair price for repop cover to complete the look......Now as for the motor.....my guess is that the shroud for the cylinder is missing, along with the iintake shroud......could that be the mystery top secret??....You could be talking about fabricating a complete rear fender......something totally unlike a stock unit......BUY MINE---IT'S NICE---I SWEAR----$60 shipped.....the only way I can better that is to drive there and install it for you......and that muffler is all wrong....I have a spare CORRECT muffler......Okay Dan, wave your magic fairy wand and blow me away with something........................... :geekdance:

in response to dan on how he made the battery cover (66six) he made a mold out of clay. then he poured fiberglass resin in the bottom of the mold and started brushing up the sides. laid fiberglass cloth in, cover with fiberglass and left it set. next day another coat of resin let it set. next day remove from mold. he only did it one time and what u see is how it came out. a few little pin holes but over all great. all mounting tabs and clips were added on after. they are solid and do not come off. he only made one to see if he could do it with the stuff he had laying around. he has about 30 hours in on it from start to finish. he said there are a lot better products on the market for plastic casting and mold making but he didnt feel like buying them at the time for a one time shot. dan has 3 gyros that are original. due to the fender and muffler situation hes going to make this one custom. im sure it will be cool. 8) stay posted. and 66six...more pix to come lol.
