You could make your own for cheap using spare change. Ask TJamz about it

There is no need to take the cases apart. TJamz oil plug is a more professional than this one i made, but i didn't have to grind and of the coins edges to make it work.
Petrock's 1984 Spree wrote:Alright so here is how i made my oil plug, which is a twist off of Tjamz big money plug
I started out trying to use various washers and a bolt and some o rings and blah blah blah but i couldnt find anything at the local fastenol that would work for me. Sp itried Tjamz method soldering the pennies together...however no luck there. Ive taken at class at school where we soldered components on circuit boards and learned about basic logic gates and flip flops etc; so i know what good solder joints should look like. I used a micro butane torch, flux, and rosin core solder. I heated the pennies up and then kept applying the heat and adding solder but all it did was ball up on me so i gave up. So i tried something different. Then i tried to drill through some pennies to keep the long bolt and have everything centered up. That too was a failure because i couldnt find a good way to hold the pennies without getting my fingers ripped off by the drill bit

So this is what i finally decided on...
I looked down the Spree oil hole and found there was 3 telscoping cylinders inside
Image
P1010684 by jpetrak, on Flickr
(Sorry the 2 o-rings are inside the 3rd and biggest cylinder)
I found the dimes fit in the deepest cylinder, pennies fit in the middle cylinder, and those two o-rings take up the thrid cylinder with ease.
So i stacked all the dimes in the deepest cylinder until the deepest on was filled
Then i stacked pennies into the middle cylinder until that was filled
And since the 2 o-rings took up the 3rd cylinder all i had to do was stack a few more pennies up to fill the oil hole
Now i remember from previous threads that anything touching the gear on the crank that used to mesh with the oil pump gear is bad news
And since my dimes were satcked against the gear i had to change how many dimes i used
So i removed one so that i would have a clearance of the thickness of 1 dime bewteen my plug and the crank gear :geekdance:
And finally i used one quarter to cap the plug because i remember that a quarter O.D is just a tiny bit bigger than the I.D of the oil hole
So once i removed that dime this is the amount of change i used
Image
P1010680 by jpetrak, on Flickr
1 quarter, 19 pennies, 7 dimes
Then i sanded the faces of all the change a little with some 120 grit to give the JB weld something to bond to
So then i JB welded it all up, trying to center them all up was the hardest part of it all and i think they weren't 100% centered but they were close enough
Image
P1010685 by jpetrak, on Flickr
If anyone else does this dont put JB weld around the plug too cause thats not good haha
It wouldnt fit cause now the overall diameter of the plug is different, a novice mistake
So i spent a lot of time sanding it off the outside of the plug and making sure everything fit well and this is what it looked like after all the stuff was sanded off
Image

And with the two o-rings...
Image
P1010689 by jpetrak, on Flickr
So then i put the two o-ring in the third cylinder and slid the oil plug in and it looks great
Image
P1010693 by jpetrak, on Flickr
I doubt i would have to use a washer to hold it on there, but i did anyways cause i dont want any vibrations to knock it loose

It fits really snug and the double o-ring config should make it air tight, hello Mr. Washington :geekdance:

***EDIT***- Also fits AF16E aka Elite 94-01 engine
Got those stupid pictures to finally show up

Ok there is definitally something wrong, I can get it to idle but when I give it throttle it bogs for a while and the revvs REALLY REALLY HIGH. When the clutch finally engages it only bumps and then stops, It wont go anywhere.....What do I do? Go back to stock springs? Also where the belt rides (clutch side) is bent a little bit so idk what to do....Please help
