Isn't a little toasty just for idle? Maybe a little lean?

Still have the shrouds off it though so maybe not

Hard to say with the shrouds off. I would not worry about it .

Greetings:

Exactly why are you heat-cycling sans shrouds? Maybe you plan to re-torque the headbolts/studs/nuts? Just install the shrouds finger-tight for your remaining heat cycles and check idle temps. I suspect a vacuum leak, even without shrouds 330 is a bit more than Flash sees at WOT.

Yeah pretty much. This thing is a rattling machine and has already loosened some of my bolts a little. So i might grab some lock nuts for the exhaust. No leak to speak of.

I got nervous as well so i put the shrouds on and let it warm up. Even with it idling a bit high temps never exceeded 220 F
Im psyched!

Is it better to let it get that hot for the heat cycles?
Does it break in the bore a bit more or should i just shut up and keep the shrouds on? :eyeroll:

Remember that letting it cool down completely is just as important as heating is up.

Yeah i am, no worries.

I'm a little surprised at just how long it takes to cool completely. Close to an hour or so it seems

I think the better option is to use an actual gasoline safe fuel level sensor. I would leave the shrouds on it for heat cycles at those time intervals. Heat cycling to the temps that it will run at on the road is what you want.

Well my home made oil plug failed on me. I saw it slowly working its way out even with that big fender washer over it.

I guess the premix and heat combo made the JB weld fail. Looks like i'll be ordering a oil plug tonight before pressing on

Good move.

Finally arrived today and fired it upfor the 8th heat cycle. I knocked the idle down a little too and temps at idle are pretty steady at around 215-220.

Is that a toasty for idle?

Alright well turns out the cops over here are real picky little screwballs and wont let me ride the thing again unless i can quiet it down

Sooo i know putting the stock pipe on a corsa will choke it and it wont perfrom well at all.
So my thinking is to down grade and get a contessa kit which can use the stock pipe with better results.

Also, does anyone have any experience with the technigas next or next r pipe? The big factor being are they more quiet than the V8 typhoon?

Thanks guys :hi:

Hmmm, i went with the Contessa and am now thinking about the Corsa. It does run great with the stock carb and pipe but i can't resist wanting to upgrade. I'll have to see what a carb and pipe does for it.

Alright baka, you said it would look a bit ridiculous and i told you i would make it looks nice. Well nice went out the window and was replaced by level of easiness

But it is a bit quieter!!

However, i still cant make it run well!! I have to take all the slack out of the throttle cable just to keep it running and when i open the gas up a little it smokes like an marijuana addict. And i did bend the float parellel like ya said Tjamz. Soo maybe the b8hs plug is just too cold?
