yes once upon a time honda thought it best to grease the roller weights that is one reason the variator had a seal on the back and a rubber o ring. Grease is no longer required nor the seal :D

All I'm doing i asking a lot of questions and self learning myself from this site. Its a treasure house of knowledge. And bookmarking a lot of different pages of threads.

I post some round 2 pics of me figuring out i need to mix the putty of jb weld.

It works so much better when you mix it. :woot:

I agree out of all the spray paint I have used for plastic the krylon fusion has looked and performed the best. Glossy surfaces must be sandy or at least roughed up. Unless you cut the vents out of the fan cover you really wont be able to tell the fan is even painted :P

I got MOAR painting done. Pretty much the ony thing left is to sand and paint the front plastic. Other than that I'm almost complete with the cosmetics.

and here is round to with my first experience with JB weld. Just letting it dry and then sanding it down. So far it works great I patched a few cracks, and used a donor piece of plastic to repair a fair sized chunk in the front.

now looking at this above picture i did do one thing stupid. I pushed down on the kick start while it was not attached to the bike, now I'm having a devil of a time getting it back the way it should be. any suggestions?

Now should I use high heat paint? I'm assuming it doesn't get that hot where it is only plastic to begin with.

The last piece is painted after fixing the big chunk that was missing at the bottom. No perfect but good enough for me.

Now its time for the mechanics of the bike. Be prepared for lots of questions! :nervous:

Don't mean to sound sarcastic but after reading this I'm reminded of a song by the rolling stones.  Looks nice, I want to do that to my ride but never have time. Good job! Thanks for the pics and Happy Trails!
