Post by deuce217 »

1985 spree BBK testing with tuned polini pipe. Please stand by for the next video which is being uploaded now. It is the whole process to do this and performance upgrades.

P.s. Buy this kit from tazland and quit messing around with the stock spree you will not regret it. This whole kit could be done in 1 hour.

It does not seem to be any faster than stock spree.

Which kit is that? the 44 or 48mm?

That pipe is off one of the Polini 50cc or 65cc motocross bikes. You don't see the Polini on the track much anymore because it is dominated by the 50cc and 65cc Cobra's. Cant touch a Cobra on the track in the minis.

Cant wait to see what the top end is like after break in and gear upgrade. :)

Jamz the acceleration is like night and day.

Curse of the solid pulley. But still even from the start the acceleration is greatly improved. No more Fred Flintstoning it across the street.

I am actually trying to find the final clutch drive gear from the variated pal. Jamz you still have that spree engine with the longer crank in?

Yeah, it is better now. I will do some more videos once she is dialed in. I just wanted to give a little something back to the forum for now. My part 1 video is still uploading on Youtube, it is the whole process of porting and other tricks I did before assembly. I am currently running the 102 jet, in the video I was running a 95 and did not like it as much. I am hoping to hit 38-40 mph on a straight away before gearing it up with Taz's gear kit. Keep in mind the video makes it look slower than it is. Its just like when you are caught with a fat chick at a party, in a empty room. Everybody says she was a whale and you claim she had a cuter face.

So it was brought to my attention by an member that I need to shave the head now to bring my compression back up because I raised the port height on the exhaust. He pm me so I figured I would share the info. It makes sense to me now but I did not think of while I was doing the build. Once I get a few more miles on her I will do this.

That pipe will do nothing for the bottom end, top end only. The gear change will just hurt the low end more, but help the * out of the top end.

Yeah I I could tell that when it was on the stock one, but it is worth it to me. Right now it will pull 35 up a steep hill, I am shaving the head now to raise my compression. I have cut .030'' off and I still can take another 16 thou according to my math. What is you opinion? I have performed the clearance test on all areas of the piston and still measure .036'' clearance. The can I still run .020 clearance with the 48mm piston just fine? Thanks guys
