my 86 spree

Post by spree916 »

So i bought this 86 for $400 and it was in somehwhat decent shape. ran a little rough though. so i stripped the thing down and started painting and replacing some worn parts. left all the mechanics pretty much stock. I replaced the seat, bistarter, had the clutch completely gone through and jets reset, put in a new ignition, new gas/oil/vacuum lines. overall it took about 5-6 months but now she is finally running strong just in time for summer.

<Spree916> hey anyone know how to get the pictures to show up?

IDK
One thing may be the link you have has no suffix '.jpg'.
Photos are too large, but that's not the issue.
I've resized them to 1/2 size and posted below

Can't jets be reseated to idle better or something? Maybe he means the idle adjustment screws?

Looks good! I am contemplating a paint scheme similar to that for my third Spree project.

Black wheels really work on these little scoots in my opinion. Have a blast with it!

i had the carb adjusted by a motorcycle mechanic and he had to drill out some build up on the jets and some other small issues. only cost $150 for him to get the spree running like a top. now i just need to get some more speed out of her she is quite slow

If he is drilling jets, he ain't much of a mechanic.
