Time to fix er up (89 SE50)

Post by oliveskate »

I will be posting pics later today hopefully,
But I am fixing my 89 Honda SE50.

List of what I'm adding or want to add:
- New Tires (They should be in tommorow)
- New Cover Bolts (Should be in soon) http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewto ... 231#p86231
- New Gasket for Crankcase.
- New stock exhaust
- 65cc big bore (maybe, i'm looking into it)
- New side plastics , with paint job. (Maybe even front one)
- Paint my rims
- New breaks
- LED Lights under neath, with built in switch (probably last thing I'll do)
- New mirrors
- Paint the other plastics (not sure on color scheme yet for my scooter (any ideas)
- New variator with weights, etc... (Looking into getting a new one)

That's all for now, so we'll see.
Will add some pictures later :)

Got my new tires in. Also my redish trans cover bolts :)
Going to get them put on tommorow, and finish painting my rims.
I just bought this undercrowl :)

Going to buy a new honda seat cover, then hopefully a new variator, and weights soon.

Then we will see from there.

Greetings:

Oliveskate axt:
Also how the * do you remove the rear wheel?
Uhh, I usually start with that big nut. Bring a long stick for leverage. It's loosely splined on. Little wiggles and patience. Bigger-than-stock tires may need to be deflated to clear the muffler mounting point. Those bad Knobs will for sure.
Interesting build.
With the roadracing undercowl and the knobbies, are you going to race SuperMotard? :)

What's supermotard?
i found that using a wrench on the clutch nut helps to pop it loose

first time i had my tire off i had the break locked, wife sitting on the bike, and me holding the tire and i would either spin the tire or lift the bike...put a socket wrench on the clutch nut and a almost separated shoulder later it was off

If I got somebody sitting on the bike, then somebody else holding the tire, and then using an impact wrench, that should work, right :P

I had to get a new tube for my front tire, had like 30 holes in it the guy said. That costed $11, then they put it on for me for free, which was awesome! :)
Going to paint the front rim today hopefully, then take back tire off, and put the new tire on and get it painted, then I'll post some pics :D

Well here we go.
Got the new tires on rims + got them painted.
Image
I should of painted them black, but whatever. Still look's not bad.
Waiting for some parts to come in.

Then no more $$ on scooter parts for now.
Need to save up some money for a bus ticket to go see somebody special :D

Also somebody told me theses tires are supposedly illegal on the roads. I did not know that, or wasn't told this hen buying them :S
