I mounted my own tubeless tires, in the past I had issues with getting the bead to pop on the rim. Tire shops have a special air filler that works without the valve screwed into the stem, to get air pressure in fast. So I made my own air filler rig to pop my own tire beads on. 8)

I'll have to prime them again, then some color.

Wicked :-) you made your own setup for setting the bead on tub less tires that's hardcore awesome right there :-D
I've always done it the dangerous way with some flammable liquid and a torch or lighter. I've always wanted to set up the dump valve on a tank to do it safely, maybe someday. Your project is really taking shape nicely, I've enjoyed watching the journey :-)

I'm making the 2 stroke oil tank into a gas tank and plumbing it together.

More fuel capacity. :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Greetings:

Flash 6 uses that extra quart oil tank too. Consider adding a manual fuel shut-off below the filter. No auto petcock on the oil tank. Don't overfill the oil tank.

I converted the oil tank on my express as well, with the bbk I really needed the extra capacity. You can get inline vacuum petcocks really cheap only a couple $

Then again the manual shutoff might be the right idea, now that I think about it more. With no gauge on the oil tank you may want to use it as the reserve, can't do that if its always feeding to the carb. At least the low oil light could tell you how the level in the oil tank is doing possibly?

Good thoughts on a fuel shutoff, I wouldn't want to find a puddle of gas around my scooter. I'll have to find one with the right size barb fittings for the line I'm using.

I did notice fuel flowing between the tanks, maybe leveling out. I haven't filled the tanks all the way up yet. Maybe I'll add another fuel filter from the oil tank to act as a back flow stopper.

Yeah, wet is the way to go from the research and how-to vids I watched.

Turned out good, it got a little bunched where I cut and welded around the heat shield.
