I plasti dip the carb. it's the rubber spray in a can. you can peel it off with a toothpick.

I installed the PG short pipe. what a pain in the a** that was. had to use a bunch of washers to make it fit.

hi forum. I've been riding and noticed not a lot of top end power. so I did a compression test and I have 80 psi. that is to low.

Update. the compression tester was no good. lack of power was the carb jets and tuning.

I did a squish clearance test and came up with 0.95mm. I should be around 0.6-0.8mm.

I think i found the problem for the low psi on head. I use rtv silicone to seal and, cover some of the scratches on the cases. the silicone may have lifted the head a few mm.
Update: the compression tester was no good. a very thin layer of silicone on base gasket is ok for sealing.

graphite9 wrote:Yeah I wouldn't have used that on the case. I sometimes use a super thin layer of hondabond. did you find a leak there?
hi graphite. I have to get a pressure tester to check the gaskets. I don't see or hear any leaks. Everything is dry.
thanks. all help is appreciated.

hi graphite. the problem was the cylinder head compression tester. craftsman tester was not accurate. I rented one from autozone $40. the head compression PSI is now about 115+psi. that's good.
