I wish i could. When the clip is on the middle setting it bogs and loses power right at 30-35. It loves the clip being 1 up from the middle, i just need to get the temps down to a reasonable level.

I have a couple ideas. I'll up the pilot to the 45. If that doesnt do much i'll take my home-made silencer off to see if thats what is causing the high temp issue.

Could these high temps just be because there is less than 50 miles on the bore?

If your temps are not in the 380 or higher area, I wouldn't worry to much. Try using castor oil or oils that have some castor in it. I'm using maxima castor 927 in my race bike and I'm not turning more than 10700 rpms. Ran my ruima cylinder to 435deg without seizing at full race conditions seeing wot for more than 15sec. I tried redline and motul and now maxima castor and like the castor better. If the snow mobile ,jetski and kart guys use them with no issues, that's good enough for me as those guys use their motors hard.

Alright, thanks baka. I'll try to find some around here. I dont want to have to order it and wait for a week to get it.

Right now i'm running Honda GN2. If i cant find the castor stuff i'll try some of the race oil Garvis Honda has on their shelf instead

Klotz r50 or benol is a good one too or any oil that has castor oil in it. That gn2 is to thin

Is it alright to run until i get the castor 927? Should be here in about 6 days or so.

Still not going over half throttle and not going past 35

Threadjack :surprise: ...what about people running a BBK and using the stock injector supplemented by some premix. Would they use GN2 in the oil tank and Castor 927 premixed in the tank?

Umm so the castor 927 is thicker and this will make the engine run leaner or richer with the same jets compared to the GN2?

Cause right past 1/2 throttle it starts bogging a tad. Its worse with the 105 vs. the 103 so i need to get a little leaner with the main jet yet and the 103 is the smallest i have.

Just wondering if i need to order a couple more jets or not

Got a 100 from Honda today

Lots better than the 103, however still very slightly rich. I believe a 98 will be the ticket!

before you start leaning out the main jet, what do you have the needle setting at and air fuel screw setting at? also what airfilter are you using?

Needle setting is one notch up from middle

A/F i'm unsure of. I just turned the idle speed way up and turned the a/f screw in and out til it was running the best, then let the idle speed back down.

I have a K&N style air filter on. The metal-mesh cone type

Castor 927 arrived today

Is it okay to start running it through the engine now that i have 100 miles on it using the GN2?

Finally got it to a point where im happy with it.

42 pilot
Clip at the top notch
100 main

Now i can actually make use of the full throttle range. The main might need a little tweaking but i haven't had the throttle pulled back far enough to tell lean or rich that high up. 190 miles on bore so far

The 927 is really nice stuff too! It dropped my temps 30 degrees without jetting changes. IMHO it doesnt smell as good as the GN2 though

And i already miss wrenching on the parts

Sooo for a winter project i'm wanting to drop a small mini stroke crank in it (definately one that doesn't require case boring)

Daywot's 44.1 stroker looks like the ticket, but the price is high.

So i found this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-DI ... 35b4da274b

I know it says AF18E only, but is there any difference between the AF16e and AF18e crank?

Would this fit in my engine?

yes that would fit.

I don't know if the polini likes th 44.1 crank.

I think a ministoked polini would be sweet

didn't burnt toast build one?

I thought it'd be a fun mini project to keep me busy

What do ya mean when you say you dont know if the polini likes the min stroke?

Port timing becomes off or something?
