Omg six those pics where killin me. I love the fat chick pic. lol.
The carb six has on that Gyro is kinda similar to the early dio AF18 carb. It uses the same dio jet.

Re: Working on a Japan Gyro UP
3/28/11 Actually got some stuff done today .Remember that rusted out brake linkage .
Got it cleaned up a bit and found out there is a chain and sproket in it to pull both brakes .
3 days of spraying it w/ WD40 and scraping w/ wire brush .

Metal to metal .... Great now where do I find brake pads in America? The part # is ASK UPH I wonder if that means Gyro Up H for Honda ??? really ...really... weird size .

Re: Working on a Japan Gyro UP
3/28/11 did some touch up paint on the rusted tank / and frame .Then started putting some of the plastic back on .
The previous owner did some mods to hold the plastic on and had drilled holes so I just used the same holes and put some plastic scraps behind for strength ..

Re: Working on a Japan Gyro UP
Any 3 bolt tg50 wheels laying around? Willing to see if 3 of the 6 holes match up?
Re: Working on a Japan Gyro UP
I can't beleve it "what a Dummy I am " .... What a maroon ... I had the wheel off What a dummy and I really wanted to check to see for myself .... Brad I just want to get this bike finished .bradthreee wrote:Any 3 bolt tg50 wheels laying around? Willing to see if 3 of the 6 holes match up?
Anyway 3/30/11 I have been fighting a bolt to get the rim off to work on the brake WD40 and a impact gun is not cutting it I guess I need to try liquid wrench . I searched and searched for brake pads for this bike w/ not much luck .So today I went to a Honda dealer what a waste of time then another bike shop then another bike shop finally I went to the Chinese scooter shop that sold me a 85 gyro for parts a while back ... I couldn't beleve it the guy had some new brake shoes that are almost a perfect match $40.00 for the pair the only difference is the hole is a bit smaller ... No problem I have a drill and the metal is a lot cheeper but at least I have a set of shoes that I don't have to order from Japan oh I also called some brake places that will re-pad the shoes $70.00 each .... Thats not going to happen . I installed one side it was a bit tight so I just sanded it down a bit ... works fine

3/30/11 even had time to paint my fenders ... I am so close to finishing this bike .
I just hope tomorrow the Gods of lubricant will be with me and release the stuck bolt from it's prison ,
So I can throw on the China shoes .. and then DONE DONE DONE !
