Re: Super Dio ZX AF28 (video on last page)
Greetings:
I'd heard about the new CBR from a co-worker recently. Once you Swap in a Dio, you'll be all set!
Sinceriously, nice choice.

Re: Super Dio ZX AF28 (video on last page)
Resurrecting this thread. I just got a malossi carburetor kit that features a thicker reed block with carbon petals, intake manifold, phbl 25 mm dellorto carb (55 pilot and 105 main in place of the 95 main that came with it), and angled air pod.
I plan on getting a cht sensor for the cylinder head. Koso has it in a 10mm and 14mm ring attachment for the spark plug. Which one would I need?

GREAT to see your Dio ZX is back and action and getting some attention! Post up some pics when you get your new parts installed... I need a new "desktop" pic for my phone, and I can always count on you bro for the BEST pics! (I used your AF18 engine with malossi winged clutch bell and stage 6 intake mani pic for the longest time! I love that pic!! )
-your Burial pipe was ok after the accident, wasn't it?

It's all installed on the bike, but haven't had time to take pics of it since I have an 'office' job now.
The Burial pipe came thru perfectly unscathed in the accident. That will probably go on another build since I got a similar carb kit as described above, but with a 19mm PHBG carb instead.

Re: Super Dio ZX AF28
I picked this up about a year ago, and finally just got around to getting a bunch of parts for it.
Here she is straight from Japan.
The body panels have been removed.
Honda frame was powdercoated a gloss black, most of the original hard plastics were tossed and the painted panels are SYM pieces. The wire harness and speedometer assembly are SYM units. Honda OEM stuff includes new fuel tank and the motor casing (not pictured). The forks are KN live Dio units, disc brake components are Honda OEM (supposed to get them in a couple of weeks) and the intake/carburetor setup will be a Malossi 25mm kit. Haven't decided the exhaust chamber this bike will get.

I love the AF18 body style. Nothin like a first generation Dio.

Yes I am. This summer. I just bought that titled frame and a few other pieces from axo. It took me for ever to find that undernose plastic I was lookin for. Thanks axo. Think I bugged every Hawaiian on the board for one. lol
You want to know what makes me sick Sanjuro. When I use to import containers of scooters from Japan I would see a crap load of dio's in every container. This was the late 90's early 2000's. I would sell the dios for like 600$. Now I am kickin myself in the a s s. I should have saved the best ones. My favorite was always the AF18. My problem is money talks. lol
On that same token I use to get some crazy scooters in those containers. You ever see a yamaha champ? Or how about the suzuki sephia?? How about the yamaha passola. Those little things fly.

Oh yeah, the Yen to dollar ratio makes it extremely money intensive to restore these little bikes. I just bought a couple sets of Honda oem calipers, master cylinders, and plastics (lower leg shield for an AF28) and just those pieces alone set me back $1200 USD. That's before shipping.
Yes, I've seen those other bikes. Honda and Yamaha save the best for the home market.
Do you need any other odds and ends for your build?
Cheers,
Victor
