still need to source gas tank placement

You could try using the top tube for oil and the bottom tube in the frame as a fuel tank. Fuel in frame like some Harleys do for their oil. Use a bladder like a Camelback bag Or coat the inside of the frame with Tank creme and use the rear box frame as a tank.

Or make one out of a NITROUS bottle turned upside down and strapped on the bottom tube modified to carry fuel.

Or this Nascar Power steering fluid tank!

Just a thought!

Greetings:

XB Buells introduced the fuel-in-frame concept in the early 2000s. Some issues with boiling gas as the perimiter design cradles a couple of very hot air-cooled heads. The system does require a fuel pump to send the fuel uphill to the injectors. Camelback bag is a nice idea, but volume limited to the available bags, and unknown reactivity to solvent long-term.

I have a feeling Mr. Toast won't be needing an oil tank...

I figured he would Pre-mix but, looking back at the last pictures the oil tank was in place.

the oil tank WAS the fuel tank ;)

plastic, small, light perfect for dragstrip. and yes premix only on race motor

I've since found a different idea for fuel tank but won't get to this project for likely another month or so

Not a bad question, I think Toast said something about it being street legal = lights.

the street thing.. ughhh im thinkin sorta street, mostly strip

as she sits, still lots of work to get it to "street" spec, as far as comfort wise, so its not gonna be a focus at the moment.

as far as updates.. nothing new lately. too busy with school and other activities so tempest sits in a corner, awaiting awakening. might get to some issues by thanksgiving, maybe christmas or move on to other projects haha

guess wel'll just have to see :geekdance:

Just a small update:

Overall, still looking just like in last pics but without motor.
Planning to fab custom strut engine mount to help recoil.
Then debating on building a whole new motor setup just for this bike :ndance:
Designing a wheelie bar, hoped to avoid it, but she WILL DEFINITELY need it :nervous:
Still need to: make custom seat, extend bar setup, mount new fuel setup

Hope to have most of this completed some time in December, stay tuned folks :peace:
