Big Bore Baby!

Post by Trafficjamz »

This is the spree in need of a new bore.
The Carb is jetted to 85 (This is a good place to start IMO)

The oil pump has been disabled also.

This next part can be done by a machine shop or with a dremel and a steady hand.

The stock head for the spree is too small for the BBK. I used the NEW 44mm head gasket to mark the difference that needed to be taken away.

Here is the dremeled head that now fits the new bigger 44mm kit.

I will be breaking this kit in this weekend. I will let everyone know how it goes.

Here is a look at my "custom" intake/air filter.

One small (kids size) cotton sock and a bottle of vitamin water.
Image

I like the vitamin water bottle because it has these little raised ovals that can be cut out one at a time until your scoot runs right.

Image

Cut out as many holes as needed, then stretch the sock. Test run the scooter again, with the sock. Cut out more holes if needed.

I cut four holes, but your sock may be different

I know it looks kinda getto, but it works well for the 44mm kit

That nipple is plugged with jb weld.
So are the ones on the pump.
And as an extra bonus, the oil pump gears are ground off smooth.

You do realize that that filter(?) will only keep out the big chunks. The dust and little gritty sand like crap will pass through it without slowing down.

Oh yes I know. No off road use going on here

The stock air box will not work for the bbk. It is too restrictive.

So I just put this on til I find somthing better. Any suggestions?

you can use the stock airbox and mod the inlet on the box to let more air in.

I have tried to use the stock air box with no luck.

holes drilled in the top

no top at all.

The 44mm kits just seem to run best with no filter at all and a 85 jet in the carb.
