The heat gun trick is something I picked up from working on powerwheel's cars. It helps reduces stress in the plastic and so I though I would give it a go on the faded plastic. Its perfect for any abs plastics that has faded.

I saw that on TV once actually. On Discovery HD theater there is a show based in Europe called wheeler dealers, they basically flip used cars. They used that method on an old faded plastic bumper. Same concept, works great.

yea, that's my other honda.

I have another 82 c70 in the backyard that is in pieces. I will be working on that one once the elite is done. I have some interesting plans for that one.

:D I knew it was an 82 just seeing the front end in that one pic. They are really reliable despite being a 4 stroke and the charging system that blows the bulbs since it doesnt have a regulator :P 45 all day long but at WOT it sounds like a sewing machine hahha The easiest upgrade you know is changing the front and rear sprockets right? unless you live in a hilly area that is

For the most part, that one will stay stock until I get more comfortable with the Honda 4cyl. Its a good neighborhood cruiser as well as a booze cruiser.

The other one is missing most of the plastics and it will be getting a lifan 140cc as well as a similar treatment as the one below. Image

I like the raked look, so I may make it my around town scoot if it works out. Its all future-talk right now though.

pm "dakine" i bought mine from chris he is a cool guy he has a thread in the forsale section. btw most people cut the panel so the carb will clear. but i think you could buy an old school krs black mani that goes straight back andtuck to carb under the panel. btw nice bike cant wait to get my 88 sb50p together

Alright It is recap time. There have been a few changes to the build over the few months, and I need to make sure that i'm not buying a bunch of crap and have fallen off of the performance path.

Currently I have a
50mm jug
50mm stroker
24mm carb
chrome ct intake
zx trans
polini variator
polini main springs
metro wheels
pirelli 90/90's all around
pg long
and a set of aftermarket gears. I think they are 7.9's but they may be 8.4's. I cant remember the final gear ratio.

The final goal here is to have a 70mph capable scoot, but be able to cruise 50-55ish comfortably.

I have read the * out of graham bell's 2-stroke tuning book and after I machine my block for the crank, I will be following it closely. I am not sure exactly where I need to be rpm wise on making the most power where i need it. I hope with the stroker and zx I can maintain a good takeoff and with the smaller carb I can maintain good mid range up until the powerband kicks in.

What am I missing?

Refinished the handle switches at work. used a heat gun again as well as a white paint pen to redo the lettering.

Also painted the headstock. Modified it for my trailtech. More pics to come of that when I get it assembled and wired.

Well I finally broke down and bought a brand new head set...
Image
It was only $45 from the local stealership. Unfortunately that is the only cheap plastic avaliable. The rest of the body panels are $150+++ each

I started to fill in the mising piece from the side skirt. I installed the panels and used aluminum tape to cover the stuff that I didnt want glued. I layed down around 10 layers of fiberglass as well as a metal support rod behind the mising piece as well as in the piece. Trimmed it to fit and made a tab for the panel and filled it with plastic bondo.

Image

Started shaving it today. It wont be 100% what I want, but it will suffice.

Image

Also started to mod my CT manifold. Kinda wish that I haden't had it powdercoated previously.

Image
Image

cut a 6* angle in the intake and flipped the ring around so that it creates a 12* turn. Ill take it into work and get it welded.
