Spree Side Stand Design....Complete

Post by richdavison34 »

I finally got around to designing a side stand for the Spree.

I started out with a universal kickstand from monsterscooterparts.com, and went from there.

The design I came up with utilizes holes that are already in the floorboard supports.

I think it came out really good. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks great!

Does it stick back far enough to be easy to kick down when the floorboard is installed?

Probably not. I personally think it needs a bigger pad on the bottom too.

In order to make the kick down process easier, I'll be welding on a tab that will stick out a little past the floor board....

Something like in this pic.....

How sturdy is the stand and when will you make 89-01 elite side stands?

The stand is extremely sturdy. It splits the load between both of the foot board supports. The bolts can be a little larger if you want, those were just some i had laying around the shop to show how it works.

I don't have an 89-01 elite frame to work from. I could fab one up pretty quickly if I knew the dimensions.

I have a bare frame. Could i send you a pic and you tell me what dimensions you need? I'd donate the frame for the first stand you make but who wants to pay to ship it :wink:.

Here is a pic of the measurements I need from your frame......

Please send some detailed pics of that area of the frame as well. I should definitely be able to make one for you.

Green = 5 inches (I found rail is missing on the left side but you can see the right one in the pic. Left side of pic is front of the elite)
Yellow = 6 19/32 inches

Red is hard to measure :). Do you want the measurement at the middle set of holes?

Yup, the center set of holes is what I need.

If you don't have that missing bar, then I'll have to custom make a design specifically for your scoot.

There are a couple of more measurements I'll need in that case....

My scrap frame is missing the bar but my complete elite has both bars so i don't need a "custom" job.

Green = 5 inches (that's with the bar, forget about the missing bar :wink:)
Yellow = 6 19/32 inches, real close to 6 5/8 inches
outer holes center to center = 7 3/4 inches (red line in the last pic)
