Sweet! Thanks!

I'll have to order a new black kick stand, then I can start on your side stand.

Any progress or are you only doing the grab bar for now? My center stand vibrates so much it's embarassing :D.

No progress on the side stand yet. I'm about 30 mins away from finishing the grab bar.

My wife's friends came into town, and I'm stuck being Mr. Mom for a few days.

I haven't forgotten about you.

I like the quality of your work sir. You show true skill and professionalism. I am dieing for a side stand on my 87 spree is that something you would want to make for a fee? and if so, what might that fee be... ballpark.
thanks for your time.

Thank you for the compliments.

I will be making some more of these side stands soon. There are several people who want them.

I think I'm going to go a different route with the side stands than I've gone with the shock mounts.....

I'm going to make maybe 5 or so of them, and then have a sell off instead of making them to order.

I am very busy with school, wife, kids, work, etc...and I hate to keep people waiting with make to order parts (which is a boat two people find themselves in now). I'll be making a thread in a couple of weeks with a few of these for sale. I will send you a P/M once I have some complete.

Thanks again for your interest. ( I don't really have a price laid out yet, it's all going to depend on how cheap I can get the blank kickstands) I would expect something in the 25-30 range.

Devenex is going to be test driving one tonight.

I'm sure he will have some feedback and suggested changes.

Once the design is complete the side stand will be $25 plus $5 shipping.

Alright sorry for the wait everyone, just got sucked into working on and riding my scooters :coolcruise:

All pics posted are clickable thumbnails, so if you want to see them bigger just click-away!

Heres some snapshots of it installed w/ plastics off:

With the floorboard set on (I should add there was no interference between the two):

Now here it is extended:

Now my first suggestion would be to have the 'leg' longer on the kickstand. The current length makes it a little to close to falling over for my tastes. Heres some shots of a 2x4 propping it up a little more to demonstrate:

The other problem, one RD already was anticipating and has a plan to prevent is that the kicker disappears under the floorboard. Looks cool, but is a pain to put down if your feet aren't child-sized:
Image

The last point I'd like to emphasize is during installation I found it necessary to bend two guides that were in the way of the bolts. To remedy this I just bent them out of the way a little, as seen below:

Overall though I was extremely impressed, installation time was under 30min easily. Furthermore this should be the case for anyone familiar with panel removal, as they need to come off before removing the floorboard. Fit like a glove and bolted on VERY easily after the aforementioned bending of things were designed to bend. Again there were no clearance issues with any plastic. I also took the spree for a test ride and neither heard nor felt any strange vibrations coming from the area of my left foot.

Feel free to ask any questions if something I said was unclear or there was something you're wondering about that I failed to address.

Great write up man!!

You covered a lot of good points and gave me a much better view of how it looks once installed.

I'm really glad it was easy to install and fit well.

I'm glad I didn't modify that one to have a kick peg now as it would have been a waste of time due to the shortness of the kick stand.

Ok, now I just have to find a new source to obtain a blank kick stand that is longer.

Thanks again for the write up and the pics. Now that these issues have been addressed I'll be able to provide a better product for you guys.

I'll let you know when I get some new blank kick stands. The side stand set up will be for sale after that.
