first run on latest build

I finally broke-in my bore in between new roof, new siding, and head job on my truck. No tuning at all, i threw in some rollers and went for a ride. The test run was less than .2 miles (more like .15 miles) and i hit 47 mph flat. Not bad :imo:.

All stock other than the Polini Contessa, Polini for Ruckus variator and 9:1 gears. I may add a 21mm OKO and maybe a SEF Black pipe soon .

Nice, my stock pipe was poorly de-restricted by previous owner. I was pretty impressed with the performance of the short run with this low budget build, maybe i'll go for a WOT run later tonight.

Is that a question or are you being sarcastic? Big bore, variator, and gears are the only aftermarket parts. Stock carb, air box, muffler, oil pump are all oem.

I guess no reply from Pimpin. I thought it might be helpful to others who don't want to or cannot go "all out". Other brands or used parts can be had for under $200. No more updates from me......

I just meant that having gears and big bore and variator is going to determine 95% of your top speed. Adding the other stuff is only going to help a little bit in comparison to gears and bigger bore

I see, but i didn't post any top speeds...just a short run :coolcruise:. I'm sure the stock pipe will limit top speeds a good amount. I'll get a WOT run in before i start doing more mods, i knew i wouldn't be able to leave it alone.

You asked for it Jay! It's not pretty and it's still dirty but i just wanted to ride. I did another run today and hit 54.5 mph...and it's pretty quick. Still no trans tuning, i need a set of rollers.

I wasn't sure about the yellow but it grew on me, now to do final touches and clean it up.

Haven't updated in a while, latest top speed is 58.4 mph and it now has some non-cherry skirts.

How many miles have you put on the bore? How's the SEF working for you?

About 100 miles, i haven't ridden it as much as i should, just a real busy summer.

The SEF black has been blasted and repainted awaiting other parts. No sense putting it on with winter around the corner.
This winter the elite will be torn apart, cleaned, painted, etc. and of course the motor willl get more power 8).
