Re: .....it's a flamin' Aero....
Still pushing my luck with the 4.00 X 10 OEM's....but not for long. The VeeRubber skins are here and looking sweet....
I know how much better Ruby will feel with these installed....100/90-10 is the size...i'm pretty sure the overall circumference will be less than the 4.00's...why can't we have tires that are as "tall" as they used to be??? (in a decent tread pattern like these)....

Re: .....it's a flamin' Aero....
Since i was in the bedroom with the camera (taking pictures of moto-tires)......
Here's is an example of why you check your merchandise upon arrival.
I ordered 2 Pirelli SL 26, size 3.50 X 10. I received ONE the right size, AND ONE size 100/90 X 10. Caught my eye when I stood these up against each other..."one of those is wider than the other", I said...Accurately eyeballin' a tape measure across the two revealed nearabouts a quarter of an inch wider on the metric size.(the circumference appears to be identical) I suspect some accidental picker actions in the warehouse. Probably wont matter in this application of Elite 80,...should be room to accomodate...If you run the numbers, the OEM 3.50's are much closer to 90/90, whereas OEM 4.00's closer to 100/90...BUT, clearly, the 90% sidewall of modern tires messiz with your sh*t.

Re: .....it's a flamin' Aero....
motormike, ya gots yourself a fine catch with Ruby!
Re: .....it's a flamin' Aero....
During a ride to see a pair of Express's, Ruby developes loose parts inside the fan shroud. The sound resembled the noise you would expect if a bolt had backed out behind the flywheel...findings tomorow....Junior Padilla of Dimelo Motor Works lends a hand.

Re: .....it's a flamin' Aero....
I can more than likely get down there, seeing as how this project of an NH80 goes over the rest of this winter. Would be a nice ride, if it went over 50.
Re: .....it's a flamin' Aero....
A small piece of sheet metal broke off the cylinder shroud.

Re: .....it's a flamin' Aero....
It appears that this metal "lip" had been broken off on ONE end for some time, slightly rubbing the backside of the plastic fan. This created very fine shavings that accumulated in the fins of the head and cylinder. Eventually, the metal lip got entangled in the fan which ripped it mercilessly from the shroud and crumpled it into a clump that went swirling inside the plastic cover. The backside lip of the fan has been damaged by the grinding of this metal piece, but I anticipate the damage is minimal enough to have no affect on the performance of the fan.
