uhm. wow. yup, you really did need some new treads.
Someone really got their mileage worth on the one that you replaced
or did quite a bit of burnouts

It's gonna feel good to be on new rubber. That one reminds me of some of the tires I had on my old '63 Impala during college days. I pulled into a service station once (yup, one of those full service varieties) and the guy told me he could see the air through em.

Re: .....it's a flamin' Aero....
The stock intake has 2 inlets: 1 for oil, 1 for petcockThe CT intake has 1 inletThe answer is 2 bucks at the hobby store. Fittings for R/C planes or cars fuel-powered.

Re: .....it's a flamin' Aero....
So you're gonna keep using the oil pump - will you need to supplement with a little oil added to the tank (because of larger carb and more fuel flow)?
Sorry to be a bonehead, but where do you intend to "install" the new nipple?
I'll be looking forward to hearing your assessment of the improved performance.

Saw your other post -
Hurry up, Thursday is supposed to be mid-seventies and sunny.
That answers my question - so you have some nipple hole drilling on the agenda - bet I can hear the screams all the way down here in Atlanta.motormike wrote:After examining the Mikuni closer, neither nipple is deemed appropriate for my needs. The simplest answer is drill and tap the intake with another inlet nipple. I can't be buying another carb for this. This one will have to do....

Can't wait to see the results mike. We had nice weather in the 70's here, unfortunately I won't be riding in it.
Re: .....it's a flamin' Aero....
Result....Yes, I will continue using the oil pump. The man who drilled and tapped the intake has been racing motorcycles for 50 years and he said that the pump should be putting enough in the mix without adding any to the tank. I'm not sure I agree with that, but I find it difficult to question his opinion. The option of pre-mixing a small percentage remains..... For added resistance to vibratory influences, each inlet has been sealed with Red Loctite.

The whole thing is first class motormike as are your build photos
If I may for information sake:
The Du-Bro pressure fittings are english thread. You can drill/tap for 6-32, 8-32 or 10-32 depending upon which size is purchased. For a vac tap, all sizes would work, but larger than 6-32 is more robust. Drill size and taps for the pressure fitting is in the 'wiki at http://hondaspree.net/wiki/index.php5?t ... acuum_Taps

I was sitting on my mechanics stool putting the front wheel back on when the lights went out and a loud ka-thud...seems an unattentive motorist took out a light pole and my evening of scoot-wrenching came to a screeching halt........ ....nobody hurt bad...
