Cut some metal out, getting a idea how it's going to come together.

This was just a mock up, nothing is welded yet.

This is really cool man I'm swapping an elite 125 motor into an '86 aero 50 frame. I'm at about the same place you are, figuring out how I'm going to mount the engine/ suspension. Ill keep an eye on this one!

Thanks! :hi:

That sounds like a crazy swap your doing, good luck! Make sure to take some pics and maybe start a build thread, I'm sure people would enjoy seeing that. :thumbwink:

I built a wood stand for the project, should make things a little easier and keep it somewhat level.
Also figured out how the elite frame mount section will be first attached to the spree and how it's going to be aligned.

It works, I was just tired of the frame falling over all the time.

So here's how the elite mount section will be first attached to the spree frame. There will be additional support holding it all together ofcourse, but it should really help me do aligment. The pipe is just tact welded right now, but the elite frame section will slide inside and tighten the set screws. Once everything is aligned it will be tact welded, the engine will be removed and I'll weld the rest.

My rear tire has a flat tube so kinda hit a dead end, but I should get it fixed by this weekend.

When everything is together I'll weld plating between the spree/elite section on each side and the bottom, making them one.

I did a test fit of the plastics with the engine mocked up.

Floor board fits fine.

Side plastics are going to need some work or I'll modify the engine parts that stick out too far.

I always take the suspension travel in consideration too, things will need a couple inches of clearance.

Might have to ditch the air box and switch to a aftermarket air filter. Looks like the drive face cover snorkel will be in the way too.

The exhaust and muffler are also in a issue on the other side. I think a pipe will cure this problem, also thinking about modifying the head pipe that sticks farther out than the elite frame section.
