Trying not to mess up my valve seats when working from the combustion chamber. Put down strips of duct tape to protect the seats.

Intake ported before and after, I couldn't go any bigger on flange opening because it needs to match up to the intake manifold flange that has a o-ring.

The piston cleaned up nicely, just needs a new set of rings. I did a quick smooth and polish job on the top, hope less carbon will stick to it.

Here's the ch80 head before and after the porting, fill weld and singh groove.

I got brand new valve and springs, the rest of my rebuild parts are on order. Doing some valve lapping and putting it back together.

Heya tyler, nice job! valve lapping is fun! I use a vice to hold the head so I can just spin the tool on top.
Also are you planing on raising the compression or lowering it? Removing material from the combustion area for flow is great but also makes a larger chamber, ie lower compression.

Trying to raise the compression by filling the dead space of the combustion chamber with weld. The ruckus guys have been doing it so I'm trying it on the ch80. The stock compression of the ch80 is 9.3:1 so a little higher should be doable.

nice work tyler. i have used a drill on stem side of valve. for a old chevy i had just to speed things up. worked good.
tyler you have some nice builds. the 125 spree, the 80 spree. what's next? the 250cc spree. that would be sick speed. :naughty:

Thanks, my next project will be call the Honda Centi-Spree. Three sprees welded together in a row, each exhaust feeding back to the next engine. I'm joking...

If I were to get a hold of a larger 150cc-250cc engine I wouldn't swap it onto a spree. But build a side cart with the engine hidden inside.

I think this ch80 spree is my last swapped spree, I'd like to buy a ruckus or maybe build up a elite 50 someday. I did just buy a crappy parts spree for $60, probably wasn't worth that but I have enough stock parts to piece it together.

Here's the junk spree I just bought, this was the craigslist ad pic. I think the engine might be seized unless it's just the kickstart locked up, but I have a spare engine and a bunch of other parts too. I'll piece it together if I ever get the spare time.

Tyler VR did you do a compression test on motor before you did the welding on it??? i wood like to no what it is now after all the work you have done on the dead..

I didn't, my compression tester isn't very accurate. I've read about others checking the volume of the combustion chamber by filling it with water and using a measurement syringe to check it.
