I got tired of waiting 3 months for my engine to be sent to me that I paid in advance for, so jumped on this below when I saw it.

Image

Simple clean of the carb and fixing/bodging up some wires got her going first pop sounding smooth and quiet

As an update the frame has been painted green, fairings black with green ascents.
Will post pics of that later in the assembly, its painful to upload at the moment

Then for $40 grabbed this pile of goods, score!, purchased it without seeing it and to find there is like 2.5 scooters there.

Some bits I have been making

Image

A clone 19mm dellorto sitting on a home made manifold, the reed cage I will probably change for something else.

Image

Enough space to clear shock, hoping will clear fairings too

Image

Made an intake pipe with some leftover fibre glass and vinyl ester resin (good fuel resistance).
Hoping it should keep the filter from getting too much fuel soak, might shorten it pending the fairing clearance, going to make a bracket to take the load off the carb too.

Next to make the exhaust/chamber and look at swapping the cylinder head with the SB50 engine and NQ50, the oil pump driveshaft has been removed ready to run premix

just grind the teeth off the shaft then reinstall it .complete removal of the shaft means lower case pressure meaning less power to push the fuel up to the top of the cylinder

Good point, was going to make an alloy bung, will take that concept into consideration if I go that path, I would have lost a little bit from the Manifold to Reed, but wouldnt be much more or less than a dio chrome ct

Seat done - before and afters

Test fit

need to shorten adjustment screw and the air intake pipe I made

Image
Image

well it fits in there, just needed to make a small spacer on the engine side of engine mount, about 10mm.

Playing silly buggers, sacrificed a rusty set of front forks for the sheath
Image
split into 2 pieces
Image
have placed into the front shocks to lower an inch, dont think they will stay in there though, will probably remove them.

just a pic of the wheels, took down to bare metal, rust converted then painted

Image

Looking at making this into an internally sprung side stand

Greetings:

Great work so far! Drip-drip-drip; the sound of American Spree owners drooling at the thought of a variated Spree.
