Yes there is plenty ways to go at this, but time is what you will have to sacrifice. I bought my plastics from G9 and it had stickers and funk all over them. I sprayed wd40, goo off, alcohol, and this one stripper worked pretty good called Citristrip at Home Depot paint section. It works wonders even on your paint wheels, case covers. It's just like aircraft stripper but not as smelly. Anyways strip, then sand with 600 grit sand paper for a few hours. Then I got some primer at autozone called rust-oleum automotive filler primer. Sprayed 3 coats of that cause the black is harder to cover. Then waited for 2 days to cure. Now with 1500 grit sand paper I sanded with water, then 2000, then 3000. Wash with soap and let dry. It's all in the preparation stage and became not to touch the clean parts with ur bare hands will leave oil mark and can show through paint. I used an eBay paint gun with a 55 gallon air compressor tank. Also bought paint off of eBay for a $100 all in a kit with instructions called UreKem paints. Adjust the gun according to instructions and spray even coats and let flash before applying more coats. I followed all instructions and end results was pleasing. Take your time and if you are painting outside do not pick a windy day to paint it. Paint is laid thin and not heavy as for the clear coat. You have to spray evenly and more for clear coat to look really glossy but don't over spray. Whole process took 4 days including drying time. Fyi I went to the auto paint shop and they gave me a weird look and ask me how much am I willing to pay for all this. So I guess they wanted and arm or a leg for the work. Yes I have a 10x5 offset at 2+2. And 120/70/10 I strecth the tire to fit that rim. It will be tough to get that size on. What I found out was the 130/70/10 will be too tall and will rub the case. Maybe try a 2+3 off set on your wheel. Daytona sells atv wheels that will work with the KN hub I'm thinking you will use. Very tight space back there. Let me know what else you need to know, spent lots of hours and money figuring all parts to fit. Trying to do rear disc set up, working very hard on it. Need to make custom bracket.curtis966 wrote:What size tire do you have on that 10x5? And do you mount your pipe anywhere other then the cylinder head? I'm looking to do a fatty soon was just caught up on where I'll be able to mount the pipe without the ears on the case. Thanks!
